Coldcut ‘Journeys By DJ’ Free Mixtape
Now then, anybody out there that knows me, will probably remember that I’m not easily impressed , maybe to the point that you think I’m a miserable bastard, But every now and again theres an exception that leaves me so chuffed that I never stop bangin on, to the point where I become slightly irritating.
Coldcuts mashup mix “Journeys by DJ” has been the benchmark that I scale most mixes on these days, and with the exception of the Ninja Tune “Solid Steel” series, in my eyes/ears nothing has ever come close to the joy brought to me by this piece of audio artwork (im touching my penis now just thinking about it!).

Reso – Hospitality D&B Mix
Reso really did do some damage when he played for us. I think there are a fair few people who still can’t get over it to be honest. You spot them round town with a vacant look in their eyes wondering what the hell happened to them!
On that note I have just spotted this mix over at The Fat Club and thought I’d give it a ruddy good linking to. Meecha – Don’t Panic Promo Mix
Something weird happens to DJ’s when they lose access to equipment, they become confused and twisted and head out into nature. Its more common than you think. Go into any park and you’ll see them everywhere. The country is literally riddled with feral DJ’s!
We first found Meecha living out in the wilds, unable to speak our language (or anyone elses) and living off a diet of berries and twigs. He wasn’t in a good way to be honest. Hadnt even seen a turntable for at least a year and you could tell. His hands had clamped up and were more like hooves.
However, after access to some technics and a good rave or two he was back on fine form. We’d grown rather attatched to him by then so decided to make him our resident.
Lucky we did really, as apart from playing blinding sets for us on the regular he has also made this rather lovely promo mix.

Bass Music Sessions
I.D. & Baobinga – Bass Music Sessions Album Preview by I.D.
Good news! Today sees the release of ‘Bass Music Sessions’, a free album from heavyweights I.D & Baobinga!
I’ve been following these peeps for a bit now so when I heard they were putting a out a free album I was chuffed to say the least. Listened through the album a fair few times now and it’s a belter. Lots of different tempos / styles which is always nice. Check the preview above for some choice cuts then grab the thing in its entirety from the bassmusic label page.
An interesting aspect of this release is the amount of background info I.D has been giving leading up to today. Everything that has gone into getting the release out can be read on the diary entries on his bassmusicblog.
