Truth – Puppets LP

New Zealand sub-botherers Truth release their debut album today on Aquatic Lab so I thought I’d give it a shout on here. You can grab it / have a listen over at Chemical Records.

On first listen I’d say ‘Dead Silence’ and ‘Terror Planet VIP’ are stand outs but there isnt a bad track on the thing. In my mind they seem to be sticking to the original dubstep half time ethos of space and atmosphere but doing it a lot better than most out there. All the sub/basslines sound amazing as well. Tracks such as ‘Fatman’ will ruin you on a good enough system.








Along with this release I’ve stumbled upon a hefty mix they did for their USA Tour.

Reso – Hospitality D&B Mix

Reso really did do some damage when he played for us. I think there are a fair few people who still can’t get over it to be honest. You spot them round town with a vacant look in their eyes wondering what the hell happened to them!

On that note I have just spotted this mix over at The Fat Club and thought I’d give it a ruddy good linking to. Reso’s latest D&B based productions have been grabbing people’s attention so this mix is very timely indeed. This mix lacks his own productions but you can hear some samples over on his myspace.

Some free tracks for ye…

What better way to ignore the rubbish weather than with some free music courtesy of Chimpo and George Lenton? Well moving to warmer climates obviously…

The monkey mon offers his take on a jungle classic here. I must say that I didnt know about the original until this was posted but both versions are spot on. Apparently JO was one of the live dancers for SL2 before heading off into production, a nice bit of useless info there for your memory glands.

Not one but two tracks from Mr Lenton. He’s one of our favs here for his off kilter wabbles such as this rare thing. We shall be keeping an eye on him and we advise you do the same.

Kanji Kinetic mixtape for SceneXScience

Alright weirdos! It’s almost that time again, Don’t Panic 12 is looming over us like a friendly but slightly intimidating relative ready to regail you with tales from the past month. By that I of course mean we’re going to play sound very loud at you through massive speakers.
